Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted his condolences to the families of the victims of the Bhiwandi building collapse on Monday and assured that all necessary assistance was being provided to those affected.

Ten people were killed when a multi-story building collapsed in Maharashtra’s Bhiwandi. According to initial information, 20 people were rescued by the locals and 11 were pulled from the rubble by a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) after the building collapsed in the Patel complex area of the city.
The building was more than 30 years old and had 24 floors, according to Pankaj Ashiya, commissioner of the Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC).
“There is no confirmation on how many of the floors were occupied. Around 50 to 100 residents are trapped in fear under the rubble. The team has managed to get 11 residents alive while 10 died. The building is over 30 years old and we had notified the owner and residents recently, ”he said.
