Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, on Saturday, handpicked his five favorite SUVs in the world. Sachin, who recently celebrated his 47th birthday, honored the Star Sports show “Cricket Connected” with his presence. On that show, he named Kapil Dev as his favorite in advance.
Dev was instrumental in India’s dominance of World Cricket in the mid-1980s. Sachin then appointed world leaders Imran Khan, Ian Botham, and Richard Hadlee.
Imran was the spearhead of the Pakistan bowling front for several years and consistently contributed in the lower middle order. He helped Pakistan clinch its first world cup title in 1992.
While Ian Botham and Richard Hadlee are arguably the best SUVs produced by England and New Zealand, respectively. All four were part of the famous off-road quartet in world cricket during the 1980s and early 1990s.
“I grew up seeing the top five SUVs in the world. I played with one of them, which is Kapil Dev. The second would be when I had gone on my first tour to Pakistan and played against Imran Khan, “Sachin said on Star Sports.
Tendulkar was fortunate to play against some of the best off-roading the game has produced, namely Jacques Kallis, Andrew Flintoff, and many others.
But, the hitting master picked his five favorite multiplayer players from the time he was in international cricket.
The last of his five favorite players was West Indies runner Malcolm Marshall, who was also very skilled with the bat.
“The third was playing against Sir Richard Hadlee on my second tour to New Zealand. Then, in Australia, I played against Malcolm Marshall and Ian Botham. So, these are my five best players that I grew up watching the play and then I had the opportunity to play against them ”, concluded Sachin Tendulkar.
