Dhawan has scored two consecutive IPLs, the first to accomplish the feat, and has also scored two of the fifty, making it a season to remember so far. He hit a 106 of 61 balls against Kings XI Punjab on Tuesday, but the team lost the game by five wickets.
“I keep my mindset pretty positive. I just watch scoring runs, and I don’t think pitching is doing this or that. I play with courage. I’m not afraid to come out,” he said, analyzing his approach to hitting after an unbeaten 101 vs. Super Kings of Chennai at a game on October 17.

“We were lucky to have so much free time that it allowed me to refresh myself both mentally and physically. I’m running faster, feeling fresher.”
The start of the tournament wasn’t that good for him, but Dhawan said that even when he wasn’t scoring great, he was hitting the ball the best he can.

“I was hitting the ball well, but it didn’t turn those 20s into 50s. Once you do that, you carry that confidence into the next game,” he said.
A third defeat in the tournament didn’t really affect the luck of the team led by Shreyas Iyer, as he continues to lead the eight-team standings with 14 points from 10 games.
“The guys have been playing well in other games. Today I had to take responsibility for myself. It’s good that I’m scoring consistently for you to take it into the next games,” Dhawan said.
India’s senior starter said that the loss to KXIP is a learning experience for table players entering the commercial finale of the tournament.
“We are going to have a discussion and see where we can improve. Of course it will be a learning process. This is not going to discourage us. Just take our lessons and come back stronger,” said Dhawan.
DC will play next Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
