On Wednesday, the Karnataka government announced a night curfew between December 24 and January 2 in view of the new strain of the new coronavirus.

Announcing the nightly curfew earlier, the CM said that it will take effect from Wednesday, between 10 pm and 6 am.

The government subsequently amended the order restricting the night curfew for just eight hours, starting Thursday night.

Schools, transportation will remain open

Yediyurappa said that schools will start from January 1, 2021.

“There are no changes as of now. If there are any, we will make a decision after reviewing the situation in about two to three days, ” he said.

  • There is no restriction on the movement of all types of vehicles or freight carriers, including empty vehicles.
  • All industries, businesses or organizations that require night operations will be allowed to operate with 50 percent staff. The movement of employees of said organizations will be allowed by presenting a valid identification card issued by their respective organization.
  • Industries and factories that require 24/7 operations will be allowed to operate without restrictions.
  • The movement of long-distance night buses, train services and air services is allowed.
  • Taxis and cars are allowed to move back and forth to drop off and pick up people to and from bus stops, railway stations and airports.
