RSS Ideologue MG Vaidya dies at 97

MG Vaidya was an excellent journalist, former MLC, Sanskrit scholar, and the first official RSS spokesperson.

Rashtriya ideologue Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) MG Vaidya passed away after a brief illness in Nagpur on Saturday. He was 97 years old.

Mr. Vaidya was receiving treatment for illness at Spandan Hospital, where he breathed the last 3:35 pm. His funeral will be held at Ambazari Ghat (crematorium in Nagpur) at 9:30 am on Sunday.

Dr. Manmohan Vaidya, Deputy Secretary General of RSS and son of MG Vaidya in a tweet said: “Shri MG Vaidya, my father breathed his last today at 3.35pm in Nagpur after completing 97 years of active, meaningful and inspirational veteran journalist, Hindutva “Bhashyakar” and active Sangh (RSS) Swayamsevak for 9 decades. “

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari mourned the disappearance of MG Vaidya and said it is sad that a pious and wise personality has passed away.
