IPL action moves to Sharjah, where a delicious clash between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab will take place in the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Rajasthan Royals are one of two teams that are currently undefeated, although they have only played one game so far. In their only 2020 IPL match, RR edged out CSK courtesy of a blitzkrieg from Sanju Samson.
Despite not having the services of Jos Buttler, Steve Smith and company were able to do the job, although they would welcome Buttler’s return with open arms.
While RR has prior experience playing in Sharjah, they certainly face a tough test against a well-oiled side of Kings XI Punjab, whose only loss came in a Super Over thriller against Delhi Capitals.
Captain KL Rahul would be very confident after he hit the first century of IPL 2020 against RCB earlier in the week. With players like Mohammed Shami and Ravi Bishnoi also looking in good shape on the ball, many would want KXIP to score both points on Sunday.
However, Kings XI Punjab are slightly behind the Rajasthan Royals in their head-to-head showdown, meaning they would love to match things up with a win in this encounter.
Their only game in the UAE at IPL 2014 saw the Rajasthan Royals succumb to a Glenn Maxwell special, which they would also be wary of this time. With the arrival of Jos Buttler beefing up the royal hitting drive, we should be in for a high-scoring thriller in Sharjah.
