Ronald Araujo criticizes Barcelona’s mistakes against Valencia

Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo admitted his team made some mistakes in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Valencia at Camp Nou.

The Uruguayan international scored a brilliant goal against Los Che to put Barça 2-1 up, but was disappointed after the team failed to hold on to all three points.

Mouctar Diakhaby lost his marker in a corner for the first goal, while Maxi Gómez leveled after Valencia surprised Barça by napping in defense in the 69th minute.

Araujo offered his thoughts after the game as Ronald Koeman’s men lost points for the seventh time in 13 games in La Liga in 2020-21.

“It is bittersweet for me because we wanted all three points. It’s a shame that we have drawn.

“We made some mistakes behind that we can’t make, but we have to work on them. It’s a shame because we had chances and the ball didn’t go in. If we had scored another goal, we would have been more relaxed.

“We have to correct our mistakes, but we have to think about Tuesday [against Real Valladolid] and about winning [the game].
