Rohit Sharma was inducted into the India Test squad for the Australia tour, but the senior Indian selection committee and BCCI medical team, after consulting with the starter, decided to drop him from the ODI and T20I series in Australia.
Rohit appeared for the Mumbai Indians in their final league match and in the 2020 IPL Qualifier 1 against Delhi Capitals after being excluded from the Indian teams for the Australia tour. The BCCI announced on Monday that its medical team has monitored Rohit’s condition and has decided to rest him from the leg of limited overs to regain his full fitness for the series of tests starting on December 17.
“The BCCI medical team has been monitoring Rohit Sharma’s physical condition and has informed the All India Senior Selection Committee about it. In consultation with Mr. Sharma, it was decided to let him rest for the ODI and T20I in Australia to regain full fitness and he was included in the India test team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, “BCCI said in a statement.
The BCCI also provided updates on Virat Kohli, Ishant Sharma, Varun Chakravarthy and announced a revised India ODI, T20I and Test kit for the Australia tour.
virat Kohli – At the selection committee meeting held on October 26, 2020, Mr. Virat Kohli informed BCCI about his plans to return to India after the first test in Adelaide. The BCCI has granted paternity leave to the Indian captain. He will return after the first test against Australia in Adelaide.

Sanju samson – The Selection Committee has added Sanju Samson as an additional goalkeeper to the ODI India team.
Ishant sharma – The senior Indian fast bowler has been in rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Once he makes a full recovery and is fit enough for the match, he will be added to the India test team.
Varun Chakravarthy – The roulette has been dropped from the T20I series due to a shoulder injury. The selectors have named T Natarajan as a replacement.
Wriddhiman Saha – India’s top goalkeeper suffered injuries to both hamstrings during his team’s IPL match on November 3. A call about their availability will be answered later.
Kamlesh Nagarkoti – The young fast bowler will not be able to travel to Australia as he is still working with the medical team on managing his bowling workload.
