Haryana and Delhi police have issued separate traffic warnings in view of the national situation. “Bharat bandh“called on Tuesday by farmers protesting against the Center’s new farm laws.

Haryana Police Additional Director General (Law and Order) Navdeep Singh Virk said that the civil and police administration have made elaborate arrangements, as directed by the state government.

Arrangements have been made to maintain public peace and order, prevent any type of violence, maintain the supply of essential items, and facilitate the operation of the public transit and traffic system throughout the state. The current instructions have also been taken into account due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, he added.

Virk said that some groups are reportedly expected to sit in dharna and block various roads and highways within Haryana. Almost every district in the state, except Nuh and Narnaul, is likely to be affected by large or small traffic jams on the roads.

Police have also been asked to be prepared for any kind of disruption at various toll plazas in Haryana tomorrow.

Authorities said the main national highways Delhi-Ambala (NH-44), Delhi-Hisar (NH-9), Delhi-Palwal (NH-19) and Delhi to Rewari (NH-48) could experience some traffic disruptions during a short period. . The peak impact hour is expected to be between 12 pm and 3 pm.

The Haryana official said that all residents are being informed in advance about these arrangements so that they can plan and modify their trips accordingly, to avoid any inconvenience. All districts have also been advised to issue local notices in this regard, he said.

Delhi police said adequate arrangements have been made to ensure normal movement of people on the roads during the “Bharat bandh“On Tuesday”. The Delhi Police also issued a traffic advisory for the smooth movement of vehicles and travelers. The Delhi Traffic Police on Twitter also posted information on various routes and roads open and closed due to ongoing farmer protests at the Delhi borders.

List of closed roads in Delhi:

The borders of Singhu, Auchandi, Piao Maniyari, Mangesh, Tikri and Jharoda are closed.

National Highway 44 has also been closed on both sides. Those traveling are suggested to take alternative routes across the borders of Lampur, Safiabad and Saboli. Traffic has also been diverted from the Mukarba and GTK highway.

Those traveling to Noida have been advised to take DND as the Chilla border on the Noida Link highway is also closed to traffic.

“The Chilla border on the Noida link road is closed to traffic from Noida to Delhi due to protests by farmers near Gautam Budh Dwar. People are advised to avoid the Noida link road to reach Delhi and use the DND, “said the Traffic Police.

The Gazipur border on NH-24 is also closed to traffic from Gaziabad to Delhi. “People are advised to avoid NH-24 to come to Delhi and to use Apsara / Bhopra / DND to come to Delhi,” he added.

The Badusarai border is open only for light motor vehicles such as cars and two-wheelers and the Jhatikara border is open only for two-wheelers.

The Transit Police said that those traveling to Haryana can take the route through the borders of Dhansa, Daurala, Kapashera, Rajokri NH-8, Bijwasan or Bajghera, Palam Vihar and Dundahera.

The shutdown has been called by farmers’ unions that have been protesting the three farm laws enacted at the Monzón Parliament Session. Major political parties, such as Congress, the Nationalist Congress Party, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the Samajwadi Party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the Left, came out on Sunday in strong support for the bandh.

Thousands of farmers, mostly from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, are protesting at various border points in Delhi against the new agricultural laws.
