In 2010, Jawahar Prasad of BJP won this seat defeating Dr. Ashok Kumar of RJD by a margin of 5,411 votes, which represented 3.74% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a 35.19% voting share in 2010 on the seat.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, JDU obtained the highest number of votes at 208. Sasaram Assembly segment of the Sasaram Lok Sabha constituency. Chhedi Paswan of BJP won the seat of Parliament from Sasaram.
