Axis Bank rises 0.5%
The central government has sold almost one crore of Axis Bank shares worth ₹600 million rupees in the last two weeks held through Sutti (Specific Commitment of Unit Trust of India). Suuti sold 61.43 lakh of Axis Bank shares between December 2 and 4, which was to seek the government. ₹Rs 374.21 crore, show the stock exchange filings.

Jet Airways reaches the upper circuit
The consortium of businessman Murari Lal Jalan based in the United Arab Emirates and Kalrock Capital of London, which won the tender to reactivate Jet Airways, said on Monday that it expects to start operating the airline in the summer of 2021.

Market opening
India’s benchmark stock indices opened to new highs on Tuesday amid mixed global signals. Sensex opened at 45,568.80, up 141.83 points or 0.31%, while Nifty advanced 38.10 points or 0.29% to open at 13,393.85.
NTPC, with an open greater than 2%, was the main winner of Sensex, followed by Nestlé India, ONGC, HDFC, ITC and HUL. Maruti, TechM, Bajaj Finserv, M&M and HCL Tech were among the laggards. Of the 30 Sensex shares, 25 opened higher.

Sensex closed at 45,426.97, up 347.42 points or 0.77%, while Nifty rose 97.20 points or 0.73% to close at 13,355.75.

Asia stocks drift after US withdrawal.
Asian stocks deviated on Tuesday as the surge in coronavirus infections in the United States weighed on risk assets overnight. South Korea underperformed and Hong Kong also declined. Shares rose in Australia.
Japan’s Topix index changed little.
Australia’s S & P / ASX 200 Index rose 0.2%.
The Kospi index lost 1.3%.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 0.6%.
The Shanghai Composite Index was flat.

Nasdaq closes on record
The Nasdaq closed at an all-time high on Monday after investors moved toward mega-cap growth stocks even as a new round of covid-19 restrictions underscored the continued economic impact of the pandemic in the United States.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 148.47 points, or 0.49%, to 30,069.79, the S&P 500 lost 7.16 points, or 0.19%, to 3,691.96 and the Nasdaq Composite added 55.71 points , or 0.45%, at 12,519.95.
