Actor Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, issued a statement after Mumbai police said in court on Tuesday that they were “required” to register an FIR against the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters. He said the sisters improperly gave him prescription drugs while they were aware of his mental health condition.
The city police filed an affidavit at the HC on Monday requesting the dismissal of the petition filed by Rajput sisters Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh to annul the FIR filed against them for alleged falsification and manufacture of a medical prescription. for his brother. “The FIR (against Priyanka and Meetu) was registered based on the information provided by the first informant (Chakraborty) who revealed the commission of the crime,” the affidavit says.
According to a ZoomTV report, Maneshinde has said in her statement that the sisters administered the drugs illegally to Sushant. “The FIR presented by Rhea Chakraborty was for a specific offense of having forged a prescription and illegally administered drugs that were already communicated to Sushant Singh Rajput by Priyanka Singh in her messages on June 8, 2020. Those drugs were more administered when family knew that SSR was addicted to drugs and was undergoing treatment in Mumbai, ”he said.
He added that the drugs were prescribed by a doctor who was not an expert on mental health problems. The doctor committed a crime “under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act by falsely describing that Sushant was a person registered with the OPD when the actor was in town.”
The attorney also spoke about Rhea’s departure from Sushant’s home on June 8. He said up to five doctors advised Sushant to refrain from using drugs based on his mental state. However, he refused to do so, causing Rhea to leave her home.

Mumbai police in their affidavit also claimed that the improperly administered medications may have led to the administration of psychotropic substances without an actual examination of Sushant by the doctor and may have caused and contributed to his suicidal death, police said in the sworn declaration. “This version of the informant revealed recognizable crimes that warrant an investigation and do not require a preliminary investigation. Therefore, the Mumbai police had an obligation to register the FIR, ”the affidavit read.
A bench of SS Shinde and MS Karnik judges will accept the request for a hearing on Wednesday. Sushant, 34, was found dead at his residence in the suburbs of Bandra on June 14 this year.
