Actor Rhea Chakraborty’s father, Indrajit Chakraborty, has issued a statement expressing his dejection over the arrest of his son, Showik. Rhea’s brother was arrested on Friday in Mumbai.
Indrajit, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired), was quoted on India Today as saying: “Congratulations India, you have arrested my son, I am sure my daughter is next in line and I don’t know who will be next. You have effectively demolished a middle class family. But of course, for the sake of justice, everything is justified. Jai Hind “.
His statement came after Showik and the manager of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s house, Samuel Miranda, were arrested on Friday night, as part of the investigation into Sushant’s death by the Control Office of Narcotics (NCB).
Showik and Samuel were arrested under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). According to a PTI report, NCB teams had searched the residences of Showik in the Santa Cruz area (west) and Samuel Miranda in the suburban area of Andheri (west).
On Saturday, the NCB also arrested Sushant’s domestic helper, Dipesh Sawant, in connection with the drug investigation. “NCB arrested Dipesh Sawant, the house aide of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, in connection with the late actor’s death case,” said NCB Deputy Director KPS Malhotra.

The NCB had launched an investigation after receiving a communication from the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), regarding discussions related to the consumption, acquisition, use and transportation of drugs in connection with the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput.
Sushant died on June 14 in Mumbai, after which the Mumbai police began investigating the case. In July, KK Singh, the late actor’s father, filed an FIR in Patna, accusing Sushant’s girlfriend, Rhea and her family, of complicity in suicide and diversion of funds. In her defense, Rhea refuted all the charges against her and her family. After a Supreme Court verdict in August, the case was transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
