Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik, Samuel Miranda, to be presented in court today


The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which is investigating the drug use allegations of the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his actress girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, arrested Rhea’s brother Showik and Sushant’s house manager. Singh Rajput, Samuel Miranda, Friday night.

Two others, Bandra residents Basit Parihar, 23, and Kaizan Ebrahim, were also arrested on Friday on drug trafficking charges, bringing the number of arrests in the case to seven.

KPS Malhotra, deputy director of NCB, said: “We have informed the families of Showik and Miranda and they have both been arrested under various sections of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act.”

Parihar was brought before a magistrate court that left him in NCB custody until September 9. Showik, Samuel and Ebrahim will appear in magistrates court on Saturday.

The other three arrested for drug trafficking are Zaid Vilatra, 20 (arrested Thursday), Abbas Lakhani and Karan Arora (arrested August 27-28). Lakhani and Arora were arrested on the basis of a specific contribution in another case and the cured marijuana was seized from their possession. His questioning led the OCN to Vilatra, who told officials that he had a restaurant in Bandra (West) but was suffering losses due to the closure and therefore began selling drugs. Vilatra claimed that he was in contact with Ebrahim and Parihar.

Parihar allegedly told the NCB that he used to procure drugs from Vilatra and Ebrahim on the instructions of Chakraborty’s brother, Showik, who asked him to give them to the Rajput home manager, Samuel Miranda. Showik’s chats on a messaging app showed that on March 17, he shared Vilatra’s contact number with Miranda and asked her to pay him 10,000 rupees for 5 grams of drugs. Miranda and Vilatra were traced to the same location on March 17, NCB officials said.

A senior IPS official from the NCB said: “We conducted searches at Miranda and Showik’s houses and collected some evidence. The investigation is in a preliminary stage and details of the evidence gathered cannot be disclosed at this time. ”

BCN officials said they have recovered Indian currency worth Rs 955,750 and foreign currency: US $ 2,081; 180 pounds sterling, 15 dirham – from Vilatra.
