Rhea Chakraborty appeared before the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Mumbai on Sunday for questioning in the drug case linked to the death of her boyfriend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The 28-year-old arrived at the agency’s office in the Ballard Estate area at 12 noon. She was escorted by police personnel, but was harassed by the media at the entrance.

NCB has said that it wants to question Rhea, the main defendant in the death case, in order to further investigate the case.

A team from the agency had visited his home early in the morning to serve him a summons to join the investigation, authorities said. A team led by NCB Deputy Director Sameer Wankhede had visited Rhea’s home located in the Santa Cruz (west) area accompanied by local police and some women. The team left after visiting her apartment.

The agency has said that it also wants to confront Rhea with Showik, Miranda and Sawant to determine their individual roles in this alleged drug trade after it obtained cell phone chat logs and other electronic data that suggested some banned drugs were allegedly being acquired by these. persons.

Rhea, in interviews with various television news channels, has said that she has never used drugs. However, she had claimed that the late actor used to use marijuana.

The NCB, in the past two days, arrested his younger brother Showik Chakraborty (24), the Rajput house manager Samuel Miranda (33) and Dipesh Sawant, a member of the actor’s personal staff, in this case.

Miranda is alleged to have told NCB investigators that she used to procure buds or cured marijuana for the late actor’s home. Sawant was arrested Saturday and the agency is expected to present him in local court on Sunday for seeking custody.

A total of 8 people have been arrested so far by the NCB, six of whom are directly related to this investigation, while two were arrested when the investigation was initiated under the criminal sections of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act ( NDPS).

Rajput was found dead in his apartment in suburban Bandra on June 14. Various angles surrounding the 34-year-old actor’s death are being investigated by three federal agencies, including the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
