On Monday, the CBI interrogated actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik for more than eight hours in relation to the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput, a police officer said. This was the fourth consecutive day of questioning of Rhea Chakraborty (28), accused of complicity in the suicide of Rajput (34), who was found hanged in her flat in the suburbs of Bandra on June 14.
The actress and her brother were questioned at the DRDO guesthouse in suburban Kalina, where the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation team is stationed. According to the official, from the DRDO guest house, he left for his residence in the suburb of Santacruz at night, but could not enter the premises due to the presence of a large number of people from the media outside the building. .
He did not get out of the car and went directly to the Santacruz police station to file a complaint, he said. It was the second complaint filed by Rhea Chakraborty against the media.
About a half dozen police officers came to his building and facilitated his entry, he said. Earlier, the actress along with her brother Showik Chakraborty arrived at the guest house around 11 am and left around 7:30 pm.
His brother has been questioned by the CBI since last Thursday. In the past four days, Rhea Chakraborty has been on the grill for about 35 hours.
Rajput’s friend Samuel Miranda and domestic helper Keshav were also seen arriving at the guest house in the morning. The former manager of the late actor Shruti Modi was also called by CBI and she contacted her lawyer.
Four female officers from the Vakola Police Station were present during the questioning of Rhea Chakraborty, the official said. Rajput was found hanging in his apartment after which the Mumbai police had registered a case of accidental death.
The father of the late movie star subsequently filed a police report in Patna, accusing Rhea Chakraborty and her family of being complicit in the Rajput suicide and embezzling his money. Last week, the Supreme Court confirmed the transfer of the FIR, presented by Rajput’s father in Patna against the actresses and others, to the CBI.
