New Delhi / Mumbai: In a shocking revelation in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, it has come to light that Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty was searching for ‘boom’, a reference to a narcotic substance for ‘dad’. In a WhatsApp message accessed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Showik Chakraborty asked a street drug dealer for the drug for ‘dad’. Times Now could not independently establish whether “dad” refers to the father of Indrajit Chakraborty, Rhea and Showik Chakraborty, or if it is used as a nickname for someone else.
‘I wanted a boom brother, dad wants … I didn’t realize his bad it’s over, “Chakraborty wrote to the peddler. The peddler, in response, said that his ‘stock’ had ended and promised to ‘score’ the same ‘tomorrow.’ The CBI, which is investigating the matter, questioned Indrajit Chakraborty and his wife today and it was learned that they were questioned about said conversation of their son with a drug dealer.
Rhea Chakraborty interrogated for more than 35 hours by CBI
Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty and her brother have already been questioned by the CBI. Rhea Chakraborty, the first defendant in the case, has been questioned by the investigating agency for nearly 35 hours so far.
The ‘drugs’ angle, which emerged when investigating agencies stumbled upon Chakraborty’s WhatsApp chats, was first reported by Times Now. Subsequently, relatives of Sushant Singh Rajput alleged that Chakraborty “poisoned” their son and “murdered” him.
However, Rhea Chakraborty’s attorney, Satish Maneshinde, has denied the drug use charges and stated that she is ready to undergo a blood test to corroborate the same. Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanged in his Bandra flat on June 14. While initial reports indicated it was a suicide, her family alleged a criminal conspiracy behind her death and brought a case against Chakraborty and her family members alleging instigation of suicide.
