Rhea Chakraborty bought medication for Sushant Singh Rajput through her brother: NCB

Rhea Chakraborty used to acquire drugs through her brother Showik and give them to her boyfriend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput, an officer with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said here Friday.

The investigation into the angle of drugs in the case of the Rajput death led the office to the discovery of several “links” or drug supply networks, he said.

The NCB is investigating the drug case related to the death of the Rajput, as well as an alleged link between Bollywood and drug traffickers.

Showik Chakraborty’s name came up during the questioning of alleged drug dealer Basit Parihar, a resident of the Bandra suburb, the official said.

Parihar allegedly revealed that he used to get “buds” (a cured form of marijuana) and weed for his friend Showik.

During questioning, Showik accepted that he used to obtain grass and sprouts through Parihar and Kaizan Ebrahim and passed them on to his sister Rhea, who gave them to Sushant, the official said.

Rajput manager Samuel Miranda and cook Dipesh Sawant used to collect the contraband and make “joints” (marijuana cigarettes) for the deceased actor, he claimed.

The starting point of the entire investigation was some WhatsApp chats about drugs that the Directorate of Enforcement found in its investigation of money laundering against Rhea and her family. The ED informed the OCN of these conversations.

“Based on the analysis of the network carried out at a technical level, the links were explored and one of the nodes of the drug network broke on the middle night of August 27 and 28,” the official said.

Abbas Lakhani and Karn Arora were arrested during this raid and the cocoon was snatched from them, he said.

He drove the NCB to Zaid Vilatra, who runs a restaurant in Bandra. Zaid was taken into custody and Rs 9.55 lakh, USD 2,081, GBP 180 and Dh15 were recovered from his possession, the official said.

Zaid allegedly revealed that they were drug trafficking products. He also said that his restaurant business suffered greatly during the confinement, so he started selling drugs, mainly buds.

It was his questioning that led the NCB to Basit Parihar, the official said.

Kaizan Ebrahim’s questioning led Anuj Keshwani, his alleged drug supplier, to the office. From Keshwani’s house in Bandra, 585 g of charas, 270 g of ganja and small amounts of THC and LSD were also seized, along with Rs 1.85 lakh in cash.

Following their arrest, “Karanjeet, Fernandis, Gupta, Aftaab Mohammad, Ankush and Sanket” were detained, the official said.

Rhea and Showik are now in judicial custody along with other arrested defendants.

So far, the NCB has recorded statements from Bollywood talent manager Jaya Saha, former Rajput manager Shruti Modi, producer Madhu Mantenimientona, fashion designer Simone Khambatta, actor Rakul Preet Singh, and actor’s manager Deepika Padukone. , Karishma Prakash.
