In its request for the remand of actor Rhea Chakraborty, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) stated that she is an active member of a “drug syndicate” and that she is used to manage finances for the purchase of drugs together with the deceased actor.
Chakraborty will appear before the magistrate via videoconference from the OCN office in Mumbai.
NCB said that Chakraborty’s disclosure / statement had made it clear that she is an active member of a “drug syndicate” related to drug supplies.
He said that Chakraborty revealed about his participation in the acquisition of medicines and financial transactions and also his instructions to Dipesh Sawant, Showik Chakraborty and Miranda.
Sawant was arrested by the NCB for his role in drug acquisition and manipulation. Showik and Miranda have also been arrested in the same case.
According to NCB’s forwarding copy, Chakraborty has acknowledged the statements of other defendants and it is clear that he used to acquire drugs for Rajput use.
He claimed that Sawant said that Rajput and Chakraborty also dealt with financial matters for the purchase of medicines.
According to NCB, Showik said that Basit Parihar provided medicines to Dipesh Sawant (Sushant Singh Rajput employee) through Kaizen Ibrahim.
NCB said Showik confessed that he used to facilitate drug delivery through Zaid, Basit, and Kaizen. He also noted that Showik revealed that these drug deliveries were usually received by Rajput aid and that every delivery and payment was made consciously from Rhea Chakraborty.
According to NCB’s request for preventive detention, Samuel Miranda has confessed that Sushant too and Rhea used to instruct him to acquire the drug. Rajput also used to deal with the financial matter regarding these drugs together with Rhea Chakraborty.
According to NCB’s remand order, Dipesh Sawant (Sushant’s employee) revealed that he used to receive medication for Sushant following his (Sushant’s) instructions.
During the statement, Samuel Miranda also revealed that he used to acquire drugs on the instructions of Sushant Singh Rajput and Rhea Chakraborty and that Rhea and Sushant Singh Rajput were dealing with financial matters in this regard, please read the request for pre-trial detention.
Earlier, Ashok Jain, Deputy Director General (DG), NCB Southwest Region, said the agency will seek his judicial custody.
“Rhea Chakraborty will appear before the magistrate shortly. We do not need your protective custody, so we will seek judicial custody. We are not asking for her preventive custody as what we would like to cross with her, we have already done so, ”he said.
“We will oppose bail. We only seek judicial custody but we do not support bail. Rhea was sent for a routine medical checkup. She tested negative for Covid-19. Everything she said was enough for the arrest. We have arrested her, it means we have had enough, ”he added.
Jain said NCB did not recover any contraband from her.
Chakraborty is the ninth person to be arrested by the NCB in the ongoing case.
The OCN launched an investigation after receiving an official communication from the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), in which there were several talks related to the consumption, acquisition, use and transport of drugs in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
The agency had said that Parihar’s links were found to those previously registered, that is, based on preliminary investigation into the details presented by ED.
On July 31, the Emergency Department had recorded an Execution Case Information Report in the case of the late actor’s death after Rajput’s father, KK Singh, filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Rhea Chakraborty. in Bihar on July 28.
Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14.
