Returning to Punjab from the Delhi border, two farmers died and eight were injured in an accident

At least two farmers died and eight were injured early Tuesday morning after a truck collided with their tractor-car in the Karnal district of Haryana. They were returning to Patiala from the Delhi border, where thousands of farmers have been protesting the Center’s three agricultural laws for 20 days.

The deceased were identified as Gurpreet Singh (22) and Labh Singh (62), from the village of Saferal in Patiala. The injured have been admitted to three hospitals in Patiala, including Rajindra and Karnal Hospital and Medical College.

According to police, the accident at the Taraori overpass was caused by “the truck driver appearing to have fallen asleep behind the wheel.” A case has been registered against the driver, who is on the run, SHO inspector from Taraori police station Sachin told the news agency. PTI.

The number of farmers protesting on Delhi’s borders is growing by the day, with more than 60,000 protesters camping there as of now. In addition to Punjab and Haryana, farmers in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the country have joined in the ongoing turmoil.

BKU (Ugrahan) district president in critical condition

BKU (Ugrahan) faction Muktsar district chairman Pooran Singh Doda was admitted to PGI, Rohtak on Tuesday, after he was struck by a car near the Tikri border protest site. The 75-year-old man is in critical condition.

He was hit by the car a bit far from the protest site while crossing to go to the bathroom.
