During the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the main ministersKerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said on Monday that all domestic flights should resume, except from the containment areas. However, those with symptoms should not be allowed to board, Vijayan said.
“Domestic flight services could be resumed with special guidelines, except from the containment areas. Medical tests can be done at airports and those with symptoms should not be allowed to travel, “said Vijayan.
Vijayan also said that each state should be allowed to make changes to the closure guidelines according to the prevailing conditions in their respective areas.
“States face different challenges and therefore they should be given the freedom to make reasonable changes to the guidelines related to the blockade,” he said. He also reiterated the demand to increase the debt limit and make more funds available at lower interest rates.
On public transportation, Vijayan said metro rail service “should be allowed” in cities other than those that fall into red zones. He also pushed for states to be free to allow public transportation.

“The state government can allow three-wheeled traffic after evaluating the situation in each district. There may be restrictions on the number of passengers, “he said.
Vijayan also suggested that antibody tests should be performed on Indians returning from abroad under the Vande Bharat Mission, as failure to do so could affect other passengers.
Kerala CM’s comment on the return of expatriates comes a day after three people, who were evacuated from Abu Dhabi, tested positive for Covid-19 in Kerala.
Along with the state’s chief ministers, the interaction with the prime minister was also attended by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Interior Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, among others. Unlike previous meetings where only selected CMs were selected to speak, this time all CMs had the opportunity to share their opinion.
