Washington: Republican President Donald Trump and his Democratic rival Joe Biden are fighting for the White House. So far, Joe Biden has garnered 238 electoral votes and Donald Trump 213, according to AP predictions.

Various media outlets have said that Trump is set to win 23 states, including Florida and Texas, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri and Ohio. Meanwhile, according to the latest contributions, Biden has bagged 20 states, including Delaware, California, and New York, as well as the US capital.

To conquer the White House, a candidate must win 270 out of a total of 538 electoral votes. A record 100 million Americans cast their votes in early voting before Election Day on November 3.

Results are still awaited from seven states, including top prizes from Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump claimed that he had won the US election, even though the final results have yet to be released. In addition, he declared that he would go to the Supreme Court to dispute the vote count.

“We won this election,” Trump said at the White House. “This is a fraud on the American public.”

According to the AP VoteCast, a national poll of the electorate, voters ranked the COVID-19 pandemic and economy as the nation’s most important problems.
