NEW DELHI: As the initial outcome of the US presidential election left the outcome in the balance, US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden urged his supporters to “keep the faith,” while US President The US, Donald Trump, claimed that his party is leading but “they” are trying to “steal” the elections.
“His patience is commendable,” Biden told his fans.
Biden said he spent the night watching the returns arrive from his home in Wilmington, Delaware, and then drove downtown in a motorcade to make his statement in front of the Chase Center.
He told a fan meeting that his hopes of victory remain high despite the uncertainty and warned them that it could take a day or more to know who won.
Trump, meanwhile, claimed he won the election and added that he would make a statement tonight.
“We are in a BIG time, but they are trying to STEAL the election. We will never let them do that. No votes can be cast after the polls close!” tweeted.

Minutes later, Twitter marked Trump’s tweet alleging an effort to “steal the election” as “potentially misleading.”
Hours after polls close in the United States, the election results are still undecided.
Several key states still have hundreds of thousands of outstanding ballots, after a large influx of mail-in ballots has slowed the count in states across the country.
