Actor Chadwick Boseman, popularly known for his movie “Black Panther,” died of cancer on Friday. The actor was in Los Angeles and passed away at home with his wife and family by his side.

His family said in a statement that the actor was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago. “A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much,” his family said in the statement. “From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and several others, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was his career honor to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”

Since the morning, various Hollywood celebrities such as Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Dwyane Johnson and others have taken to social media to mourn the actor’s passing. Mark Ruffalo tweeted: “All I have to say is that the accumulated tragedies this year have only been deepened by the loss of #ChadwickBoseman. What a man and what an immense talent. Brother, you were one of the greats of all time. and your greatness was just beginning. Lord, I love you. Rest in power, King. ”

Dwayne wrote: “It’s hard to hear about this. Rest in love, brother. Thank you for shining your light and sharing your talents with the world. My love and strength for your family ”.

Evans shared the images with the late actor and wrote: “I am absolutely devastated. This is beyond heartbreaking. Chadwick was special. A true original. He was a deeply engaged and constantly curious artist. He had a lot of incredible work to create. I am infinitely grateful for our friendship. Rest in power, King ”
