The minister added that “the change has brought with it socio-economic development both in the new UTs of Jammu and Kashmir and in Ladakh. The empowerment of people, the elimination of unjust laws, equity and equity of those who are discriminated against from ages who are now doing their part along with integral development are some of the important changes that are marking the beginning of the new UT towards the path of peace and progress. ”

Giving a detailed account of the funds infused in the region, the Interior Ministry said that in addition to the regular flow of funds under various schemes by different central ministries, an amount of Rs 30,757 crore has been allocated in Fiscal Year 2020-21.

According to the Prime Minister’s development package announced in 2015 for the former state of Jammu and Kashmir, Rs 80,068 crore continues to be spent on 63 major development projects (54 in J&K and 9 in Ladakh) in sectors such as roads, energy, health, tourism, agriculture, horticulture, skills development, etc. Reddy said.

The minister said that 15,142 candidates have been given job training in sales and customer service, hotels, among others, while as of July 31 of this year, 6,763 young people were in training and 6,556 young people found employment.

“In addition, all of the Center’s flagship schemes, including various centrally sponsored schemes and individual beneficiary-focused schemes, are also being proactively implemented in both J&K and Ladakh,” he added.

In response to another inquiry in Lok Sabha, the Home Office said there were 111 successful cross-border infiltration incidents in Jammu and Kashmir between August 2019 and July this year. Between March and August this year, 138 terrorists have been killed, while 50 members of security personnel have also given their lives, the MHA said.
