Congress leader and general secretary of the party, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday tweeted a moving post about the father Rajiv Gandhi’s death anniversary. Gandhi published a photo in which she stated that it was his last catch with his father.
“Be kind to those who are kind to you; to know that life is fair, no matter how unfair you might think; to walk on, no matter how dark the sky or fearful of the storm; To cultivate a strong heart, and fill it with love, no matter how great the pain; these are the gifts of my father’s life,” his tweet read.
The former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi also remembered his father and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on Thursday.

Gandhi remembered his father as a “gentle, kind, compassionate, and patient.” “I miss him,” Gandhi said in a motion post, adding that his father will always remain alive in his heart.
“In memory of my beloved father, Shri Rajiv Gandhi, who was martyred on this day in the year 1991. He was a wonderful father; gentle, kind, compassionate and patient. I miss him. But he will always live in my heart and the wonderful memories I have of him”, was published.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his sacrificed on the 29th anniversary of the death of Rajiv Gandhi.
“On his death anniversary, tributes to former PM Shri Rajiv Gandhi,” the prime minister posted on Twitter Thursday night.
The former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, recalled Rajiv Gandhi as a “young maker”.
“By remembering Shri #RajivGandhi on his death anniversary. A young filmmaker, I witnessed his relentless energy in the period prior to Asiad 82 & Elections of 1985 and 91. In a short period of 5 years as PM, he engineered profound changes, esp in India’s security & strategic framework,” Mukherjee twitter.

The former prime minister and bastion of the Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated during an election campaign on 21 May 1991.
Rajiv Gandhi took charge of the country as the prime minister, after the murder of his mother and former PM Indira Gandhi in 1984. He served as the sixth prime minister of the country, from 1984 to 1989, and was also the youngest to hold the position.
