Reliance JioFiber to Offer Netflix, Amazon Prime Free with Select Plans

Reliance JioFiber customers will have the option to opt for a new carrier offering. Reliance Jio has launched new broadband plans that are almost as cheap as prepaid mobile phone plans. The company has launched new broadband plans starting from 399 and these plans will not have any data usage limits.

Under the new plans, the Netflix app will also be bundled with some mid-range plans. According to a statement issued by the company, these plans will be implemented as of September 1.

While older JioFiber plans have a data usage limit per month. Once that limit is reached, the speed drops dramatically to 1 mbps. The low-end plan of 399 will offer an upload and download speed of 30 megabit per second (mbps).

Additionally, Reliance Jio will also provide a free 30-day trial of 150Mbps plans with subscription to 10 over-the-top applications.

New plans announced for 999 will offer access to 11 OTT apps, including Amazon Prime Video, Disney Hotstar, Zee5, Sony Liv and the plan priced at 1,499 will come bundled with Netflix.

Jio said that subscription to the 12 most paid bundled apps will be available to customers “at no additional cost.”

“The plans of all existing JioFiber clients will be updated to match the benefits of the new rate plans,” the statement read.

“We want to bring fiber to each and every household and empower every member of the family. After making India the largest and fastest growing country in mobile connectivity with Jio, JioFiber will propel India to leadership global broadband, thus providing broadband to more than 1,600 cities and towns, “said Jio Director Akash Ambani.
