NEW DELHI: Registration for the next round of Covid-19 vaccinations is likely to begin as of Monday morning, allowing people to schedule their vaccinations the same day, sources said.
“Co-Win, as well as other IT applications and platforms, will be available from Monday morning around 10 am. People will need to fill in some details and upload proof of identification and post it. It is a matter of a few minutes and it can be done the same day, “a senior official told TOI.
The beneficiary registration process can be done in three ways: advance self-registration, on-site registration, and facilitated cohort one.
Although the vaccination will be free in government centers, those who opt for private hospitals will have to pay to schedule an appointment. While all beneficiaries will need to carry an identification document such as an Aadhaar card or Voter ID, people between the ages of 45 and 59 will also need to carry a certificate from a registered physician to register themselves or a hard copy can be brought to Center.
In addition to Co-Win, other IT applications such as Aarogya Setu and Common Service Centers will be activated for registration.
The Health Ministry is likely to make an official announcement on the matter on Sunday, he added.
People over 60 years of age and those between 45 and 59 years of age with specific comorbidities will be eligible for vaccination in this round. Until now, only healthcare and frontline workers were being vaccinated. As of Friday, a total of 1.42 crore doses were administered; however, vaccination sessions were suspended on Saturday and Sunday for the transition of the Co-Win digital platform from Co-Win 1.0 to Co-Win 2.0.
As in the first phase, all beneficiaries would be captured on the Co-Win 2.0 platform and would be issued provisional (upon receiving the first dose) and final (upon receiving the second dose) certificates based on a digital QR code. .
