The Redmi 9 Power price in India and specifications were announced on Thursday. The smartphone offers some notable features, including a 6,000 mAh battery and a 48 MP quad camera setup at a starting price of just Rs 10,999. The Redmi 9 Power price in India is similar to the global POCO M3 price. In fact, the device also shares many of the same specifications as the POCO M3, raising the question of whether the two are essentially the same. To recall, the POCO M3 is the latest offering in POCO’s M-series and it was launched globally last month. Chances are high that POCO M3 will launch soon in India too. Redmi 9 Power vs POCO M3: similarities
Starting with the specs, Redmi 9 Power and POCO M3 both to run MIUI 12 based on Android 10 out of the box and comes with dual SIM support. The phones have a 6.53-inch FHD + screen with a standard 60Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera. The front camera on both phones employs an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calls. At the heart of the Redmi 9 Power and POCO M3 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC paired with Adreno 610 GPU and 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM.
Both phones come with 64GB and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage options that can be expanded using a microSD card (up to 512GB) through a dedicated slot. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS / A-GPS, infrared (IR) blaster, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phones also employ a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security. The Redmi and POCO smartphones measure 162.3mm × 77.3mm × 9.6mm and weigh 198g.

On paper, the Redmi 9 Power differs from the POCO M3 only in two departments: cameras and design. The Redmi 9 Power has an ‘aura power design’ with a rectangular camera module in the left corner of the rear panel. Meanwhile, the POCO M3 comes with a unique rear panel finish that sees a large camera island in the upper half. In particular, the Redmi 9 Power has a four-camera system that includes a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor. The POCO M3, on the other hand, ships with a triple camera setup consisting of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP sensor.

The POCO M3 launch date in India has yet to be announced. To give you perspective, the phone is sold globally at $ 149 (roughly Rs 11,000) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, while the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage option costs $ 169 (roughly Rs 12,500), which are similar to the Redmi 9 Power prices.
