Key points

  • Royal Challengers Bangalore to face Rajasthan Royals in match 15 of IPL 2020
  • Both teams have won two of the three games they have played so far
  • Virat Kohli is expected to make a couple of changes to the game XI

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) led by Virat Kohli will face the Rajasthan Royals led by Steven Smith in the opening match of the double header on Saturday. Both teams have the opportunity to climb to first place for a few hours. One of the Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals, who play the second game of the day, will replace the winner of the first game of the day to move up to the top position due to better NRR.

Both RCB and RR have outperformed their weight at IPL 2020 so far. The Bengaluru-based franchise had started its season with a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. RCB lost to Kings XI Punjab, but were quick to make a strong comeback against the defending champions, the Mumbai Indians, in the Super Over.

RR, on the other hand, had pulled off a major heist by defeating Chennai Super Kings in their first game. They were almost out of contention against Kings XI Punjab before Rahul Tewatia changed the game with five sixes in one against Sheldon Cottrell. They lost their third game to Kolkata Knight Riders.

It should be noted that both of RR’s victories came in Sharjah, which has smaller limits compared to the other two stadiums. The first match of the day will be played in Abu Dhabi.

Upon entering the contest, both teams are expected to make some changes. RCB would like to address the seedy bowling as its players leaked 89 runs in the final five overs against the Mumbai Indians who saw the game pushed to Super Over. Chris Morris appears to be in good shape and is expected to replace Isuru Udana in Game XI

RR could look to replace Robin Uthappa in Game XI. The senior hitter has yet to prove himself with the bat and has also been a bit sloppy on the field.

Match prediction –

RCB has an advantage over its counterparts. His form and the fact that the match will not be played in Sharjah are the reasons why the team led by Kohli is the favorite. Royal Challengers Bangalore is expected to defeat Rajasthan Royals.
