Royal Challengers Bangalore came close to throwing the ball, but managed to get over the line in the Super Over thanks to the brilliance of Navdeep Saini. Virat Kohli’s team had been humiliated by Kings XI Punjab in the previous game, but the batting department bounced back in style, setting up an imposing goal on the board. RCB should have galloped to a win, but they were sweaty thanks to a brilliant hitting from Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard. With the match entering the Super Over, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli managed to push the team over the line, having set a measly goal of 8 runs. Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma took to Instagram to express her relief, saying the RCB vs MI match was “too exciting a game for a pregnant woman.”
Anushka posted split images of Kohli and De Villiers sharing a hug after the Super Over win, the teams congratulating each other and the RCB bench celebrating their second win in three games at IPL 2020.
RCB was 201 of three after being hit with Devdutt Padikkal (54), Aaron Finch (52) and AB de Villiers (55) batting half a century. For the third consecutive game, the RCB captain failed to shoot, scoring a meager 3 of 11 balls.
Young off-roader Shivam Dube hit a quick 27 of 10 balls to push RCB past 200.
