The on-field rivalry between Virat Kohli and Steve Smith is always a treat to watch, as both are considered the modern greats of the game, albeit in different formats. Who is better, Kohli or Smith? – has always been a hot topic of debate among fans, but now that rivalry is not only limited to international cricket, it has also become part of the Indian Premier League (IPL), where Kohli and Smith lead Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals respectively. While there is some time left for that rivalry to develop at this year’s IPL, the two franchises’ social media managers have already started the rivalries, pushing each other on Twitter.

It all started when the 2020 IPL schedule was announced on Sunday and the franchise shared the match dates with their fans. RCB was also among several franchises that did the same and shared a little video asking their fans which accessory they are most excited about.

“With the announcement of the IPL Dream11 programming, what is the event you look forward to the most, the 12th Army of Man? Star-strikeStar-strike #PlayBold # IPL2020 #WeAreChallengers,” RCB tweeted.

Rajasthan Royals decided to fool their IPL RCB rivals by using their wrong logo, through a hilarious meme. However, their move fell through when the Virat Kohli franchise decided to give them a taste of their own medicine.

The Bangalore-based franchise shared a photo of RR’s wicketkeeper-hitter, Sanju Samson, who was wearing a helmet with the same logo that RCB used in their video.

“So you’re saying this is the wrong logo?” RCB fired in response.
