Video of the celebration has emerged from the team’s hotel in the United Arab Emirates showing the RCB skipper cutting his birthday cake and celebrating the special day with his teammates.
The skipper of India and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli, turned 32 on Thursday. The batting superstar is currently in the UAE for the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. RCB has booked their place in the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and Kohli will definitely be looking forward to guiding the team to their first IPL title.
RCB made the playoffs by a hair. Along with Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders, they finished the league stage with seven wins. But they managed to take last place in the playoffs due to a better net execution rate than KKR. RCB could have finished higher on the table, but four consecutive losses ruined his chances.
The side led by Kohli will block the horns against SRH in the Eliminator. If they manage to win the game against the fit team, they will face the losing team from the first Qualifier to be played between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals.

Virat Kohli’s IPL colleagues, however, made sure their employer enjoyed his birthday. A video of the celebration has emerged from the team’s hotel in the UAE showing the RCB pattern cutting his birthday cake and celebrating the special day with his classmates. Following tradition, the players smeared cake all over Kohli’s face and hair as they chanted and cheered.

Kohli is widely regarded as the best hitter of this generation. The right-handed batsman made his international cricket debut in 2008, just months after leading India to glory at the ICC U19 World Cup. So far he has played 248 ODIs and racked up 11,867 runs with the help of 43 tonnes, the second most in the format.
In testing, he has represented India in 86 games, scoring 7,240 runs with the highest of 254 *. In T20I cricket, he has played 82 games and scored 2,794 runs. Kohli will don the Indian jersey again when the team travels to Australia later this month for a full tour comprising three ODIs, three T20Is and four tests.
