NEW DELHI: The Indian cricket team suffered a major blow as a fit player Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the remaining two games of the T20I three-game series against Australia.
Jadeja suffered a concussion after receiving a blow to the left side of the forehead in the last over of the first inning of the first T20I against Australia in Canberra on Friday. He was unbeaten with 44 against 23 balls, helping India score 161/7 which ultimately proved enough for an 11-run win.

“The diagnosis was confirmed based on a clinical evaluation in the dressing room during the entrance break by the BCCI medical team. Jadeja remains under observation and will be taken for further scans if necessary based on the evaluation on Saturday morning. It will not take any additional part in the ongoing T20I series, “the BCCI statement said.

All India Senior Selection Committee appointed Shardul Thakur as a replacement for Jadeja.

Yuzvendra chahal (3/25), who came in as a replacement for Jadeja’s concussion, later played a major role with the ball in India’s victory in the series opener.
