New Delhi:
Prominent industrialist Ratan Tata wrote a note about the devastating terrorist attacks that swept through Mumbai on November 26, 2008 on the anniversary of today’s gloomy day.
Sharing an illustration of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, one of the main targets of the terrorists on 11/26, on his Twitter and Instagram accounts, Tata said that “senseless destruction” will not be forgotten.
The hotel, which is over 100 years old, is owned by the Tata Group.
However, he applauded the people of Mumbai who came together and put aside differences to “defeat terrorism and destruction that day.”
Adding that the kindness of the fateful day is to be appreciated, the 82-year-old businessman said the sensitivity displayed on that day will continue to shine through for years to come.
Today we can certainly mourn those we lost and honor the sacrifice of the mighty men who helped conquer the enemy, but what we should applaud is the unity and acts of kindness and sensitivity that we should cherish and that hopefully will be it will continue to shine for years to come, “Tata wrote.

On November 26, 2008, 10 terrorists from Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) carried out a series of attacks in Mumbai, including the Taj Mahal Hotel, the Oberoi Hotel, the Leopold Cafe, the Casa Nariman (Chabad), and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus train station, killing 166 people.
In these horrific attacks, nine terrorists were killed and the only survivor, Ajmal Kasab, was arrested and sentenced to death. He was executed on November 11, 2012.
Tributes poured out from around the world on the 12th anniversary of the gruesome day, including the United States, which said it supports India in the fight against terrorism and affirmed its commitment to holding the perpetrators of the attack accountable and ensuring justice for the victims. .
