The hashtag ‘Ranveer Singh’ has been trending massively on Twitter, as his wife, actress Deepika Padukone, has been questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Deepika Padukone has been subpoenaed by the NCB in a drug case related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
Deepika, who was filming director Shakun Batra’s next movie in Goa, arrived in Mumbai on Thursday night. Ranveer accompanied her. The couple arrived at the Mumbai airport around 9:15 p.m. They reportedly boarded a chartered flight from Goa around 8pm.
Several photos of them leaving the Mumbai airport went viral on social media. Some mocked the powerful Bollywood couple, while others sympathized with them. One user wrote: “That’s a #real couple challenge they’ve taken!” While she was a fan of DeepVeer, as DeepVeer and Ranveer are affectionately called by fans, she tweeted: “May this couple always be safe, secure, charged and successful. DeepVeer forever. Protect them.”
The NCB, which launched the investigation after a drug angle in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s alleged suicide came to light, has now expanded its investigation and called in movie celebrities for questioning.
Deepika Padukone will appear before the NCB on September 26 (Saturday), along with Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor. Actor Rakul Preet Singh and Deepika’s manager Karishma Prakash are summoned on Friday.
