Noida:
People coming from Delhi to Noida will be randomly screened for COVID-19 starting tomorrow, the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration in Uttar Pradesh said.
The random sampling decision was made during an online meeting of senior administration and health department officials with District Magistrate Suhas LY on Tuesday amid a surge in COVID-19 cases in Delhi.
There will be no restrictions on the free movement of people between Noida and Delhi, Suhas said.
“In view of the increase in coronavirus cases in Delhi, the district magistrate has ordered officials to form teams that would be deployed to the Noida-Delhi borders in DND and Chilla to randomly check people coming from the capital national for infection, “he said. .
The district magistrate said the recent increase in cases in Gautam Buddh Nagar due to the strategy to combat the pandemic is being “readjusted”.
“This increase has been due to cross-border infection from areas such as Delhi and others. Therefore, such people will be randomly sampled and a warning will be issued to all institutions (here) to be on the lookout for symptomatic people, track them early and give them the treatment they need, “he said.
He said there was an increased cross-border movement of people during the last days of festivals, so the next few days will be “crucial” and the health department has also been instructed to make the necessary preparations in hospitals.
He also called on people to follow all COVID-19 protocols such as wearing masks or covers, practicing social distancing in public places and avoiding casual approach against infection.
Random sampling will be done using a rapid antigen-based test, the DM said.
