The disappearance of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has been as big a blow to the entire film industry as Irrfan Khan’s. While Irrfan was a super-talented actor who emerged years after Rishi’s peak years in the Hindi film industry, he made a name for himself in Bollywood. On the other hand, Rishi was a gem, an actor par excellence and someone who was one of the pillars of Hindi cinema. It belonged to the time when movies were seeing western influences and Rishi was a top favorite in introducing new trends in India through cinema. Whether it’s her variety of sweaters or her sparkly outfits or even her dafli, Rishi was THE fashion pioneer. And so, when the beloved actor passed away, his death was mourned across the nation. His fellow stars who had shared screen space with him were deeply affected and his industry friends couldn’t believe the news. One of them was his close friend, actor Rakesh Roshan. He recently opened up in an interview about the morning when he found out about Rishi.

Rakesh, who had been diagnosed with tongue cancer, was cured of the disease after undergoing treatment. Her son, actor Hrithik Roshan had revealed it in 2018. While talking about Rishi’s disappearance, Rakesh said he received a message from a friend asking him about actor ‘Mulk’s’ health. He called Randhir Kapoor to inquire about his brother, but his phone was busy. It was then that he realized something was wrong. By marking Rishi’s son Ranbir Kapoor, Rakesh received the news and was instantly broke. He mentioned that instead of comforting Ranbir, the ‘Sanju’ star calmed Rakesh. Rakesh said Ranbir had been a pillar of strength for his father Rishi during his illness.

This revelation just once again proved that Ranbir made sure to stand by his father to the end in the true sense. For the past two years Ranbir has been working on two films, ‘Brahmastra’ and ‘Shamshera’. And although he did not fail in his commitment to the cinema, he also continued to make adjustments to his schedules whenever his father needed him and gave him all the emotional and physical support he could. He also introduced his father to his life partner, Alia Bhatt, who must have been successful for Rishi. At least he was lucky to see who his future daughter-in-law would be.
