Rajnath criticizes those who use terms like ‘Naxal’, ‘Khalistani’ for farmers

Referring to farmers as the backbone of the nation’s economy, Union Minister Rajnath Singh said he is hurt by farmers holding demonstrations and the government is striving to increase farmers’ income.

Speaking on a variety of issues, including the confrontation between India and China and religious conversion, Rajnath Singh, during an interview with the ANI news agency, said that it is not about being insensitive to farmers.

“It is not about being insensitive to farmers. Our farmers are holding demonstrations and I am not the only one suffering, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also suffering, ”Singh said.

On the accusation made by various BJP leaders against farmers such as ‘naxals’ and ‘khalistanis’, Singh added, “These accusations should not be made by anyone against farmers. We express our deepest respect for farmers. They are annadatas ”.

Thousands of protesting farmers, mostly from Punjab and Haryana, have been camping at three border points in Delhi, Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri, for more than a month, demanding the repeal of the three agricultural laws and the legal guarantee for MSP . Congress demanded legal sanctity to farmers’ demands, including that of guaranteeing the MSP.

The Union minister also made a strong objection to comments made by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau last month about the farmers’ protest and said that no leader of a country should speak about India’s internal affairs.

“First of all, I would like to say about the prime minister of any country that no comment should be made on the internal affairs of India. India does not require any external interference. We will solve the problems on our own. It is an internal matter of India. None. country of the world has the right to comment on the internal affairs of India, “said Rajnath Singh.

Singh added that India is not any other country where anyone can say something.

Rajnath Singh praised the contribution of farmers to the economy and continued to praise the Sikh community for their sacrifices to protect the culture of India. “Whenever the country has been through an economic recession, only farmers have helped control the economy. Farmers are the backbone of our nation’s economy, ”he said.

“Our Sikh brothers have always protected the culture of India. Your contribution will be remembered for protecting the country’s self-respect. There is no question of its integrity, ”he added.

Singh, speaking about the MSP, said: “The government has repeatedly said that the Minimum Support Price will continue. If leaders don’t keep promises in a democracy, the people will punish them. We strive to increase farmers’ income. “
