Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a commemorative 100 rupee coin on Monday as part of the centenary celebrations of the birth of Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia. During the virtual ceremony, the Prime Minister also spoke about her legacy and highlighted some crucial cases from her life.

Modi on Sunday tweeted: “Tomorrow October 12 is Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia’s Jayanti. On this special day, the 100 rupee commemorative coin will be released at 11 a.m. M. This is part of the centenary celebrations of his birth and it is one more occasion to pay tribute to his great personality ”.

Born on October 12, 1919, Scindia was a prominent political figure and was one of the founding members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She was one of the main faces of the party. His daughter Vasundhara Raje and grandson Jyotiraditya Scindia are currently serving as senior leaders of BJP.

At the virtual ceremony, Modi began her speech by saying that Rajmata Scindia dedicated her life to the poor. He added that it showed that for the representatives of the people it is not ‘Raj Satta’ but ‘Jan Seva’ important. Members of the Scindia family along with other dignitaries were also part of the event.
