Rajinikanth’s older brother on Tuesday backed the Tamil superstar’s decision to withdraw his decision to launch a political party.
R Sathyanarayana Rao, 77, said it is his brother’s wish and that he cannot be forced to change his mind.
When pointing out “high expectations” that people had for Rajinikanth’s planned political debut, Rao said: “We too believed that (he would launch the party).”
“He (Rajinikanth) has cited health reasons. So we can’t force it. It is your wish (not to throw a party). Whatever decision you have made, it is definitely correct, ”Rao told PTI.

He said he spoke with Rajinikanth on Monday to ask about his health.
Earlier this month, Rajinikanth visited his brother in Bengaluru, where he grew up.
The 70-year-old had sought the blessings of his brother, who wished him good health and a long life.
Rao had recalled that Rajinikanth spent his childhood in the city, where he was born, and lived here until he was 22 years old before moving to Chennai.
“He (Rajinikanth) has ‘gurukripa’ (guru’s grace),” he had said.
“He (Rajinikanth) is a man of his word. It definitely does what it says on the tin. He always keeps his word. ”Rajinikanth announced Tuesday that he would not take the political step and start a match as previously announced, citing his fragile health.
Upon being released from a Hyderabad hospital on Sunday after being treated for fluctuations in blood pressure, the lead actor voiced his fears about those accompanying him on his possible political journey facing “mental and financial” problems in due course.
