Hyderabad:
Superstar Rajinikanth, who was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad on Friday with irregular blood pressure, was released. His medical reports showed there is nothing alarming about him, doctors said earlier that day.
The 70-year-old was admitted to Apollo Hospitals after “severe fluctuations” in his blood pressure and exhaustion. She was in town last week for the filming of her movie “Annathe,” but it was canceled after four team members tested positive for coronavirus. Rajinikanth himself, however, tested negative.
While a medical update had said on Saturday that doctors had found no major health issues with him, they were awaiting further investigation reports before reaching a conclusion.
“His blood pressure has stabilized and he feels much better. In view of his better medical condition, he will be released from the hospital today,” the hospital said Sunday afternoon.
Doctors have advised “complete bed rest” for a week, minimal physical activity and to avoid stress.
Rajinikanth’s health problems come days before the planned launch of his political party. The new team is expected to play an important role in the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections scheduled for May 2021. His fellow actor, Kamal Haasan, has already launched the election campaign for his new party, the Makkal Needhi Maiam. Haasan had previously expressed his willingness to work with his longtime colleague’s new team.
Comments “Wishes for Rajinikanth’s speedy recovery,” Haasan, 66, tweeted in Tamil on Christmas Day. Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister E Palaniswami also spoke to the ailing actor on Saturday by phone and wished him a speedy recovery.
