Actor Rajinikanth is likely to announce his decision to enter politics at the Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) district secretaries meeting on Monday.

RMM officials have been asked to meet at a wedding hall they own in Kodambakkam. “We got a call from the central office; All Rajini Makkal Mandram district secretaries have been asked to meet at Raghavendra Mandapam on Monday morning. There is definitely a political vacuum in Tamil Nadu, we look forward to good news tomorrow, ”said AVK Raja, RMM secretary for Chennai Central Constituency.

RMM has requested permission from the Kodambakkam police to accommodate 50 people in the wedding hall. They have ensured that the participants will wear masks and maintain social distance.

This comes a month after a letter allegedly written by Rajinikanth went viral on social media. Rajinikanth rejected the content of the letter as false, but admitted the part that talks about his health.

According to the leaked statement, doctors have advised Rajinikanth not to go into politics in light of his health and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, which presents challenges such as holding public meetings. The letter also claimed that Rajinikanth underwent a kidney transplant abroad in 2016.

Rajinikanth will resume shooting his next movie ‘Annathe’ from April due to the pandemic.

In October, Rajinikanth said he would explain his political ambitions after arguing with Rajini Makkal Mandram officials.

In 2017, Rajinikanth announced that he will organize a party and participate in the 234 electoral districts in the assembly elections. During a press conference in March this year, Rajinikanth said that he will not be in the running for the post of Chief Minister, but that he will lead the party and let another team run the government if his party is elected to power.
