Rajinikanth is being closely monitored; will stay in Hyderabad hospital overnight | Hindi Movie News

Superstar Rajinikanth, who was admitted to a corporate hospital here with severe fluctuations in blood pressure on Friday, will remain in the hospital overnight.

The hospital said Rajinikanth is being closely monitored and medications to control his blood pressure are being carefully adjusted. The 70-year-old man will undergo further investigations on Saturday. The actor’s daughter is with him.

“He is stable and rests. The family and the treating doctors have asked all the sympathizers to avoid visiting the hospital, as he is not allowed to receive visitors,” the hospital said.

The actor was filming for the Tamil movie ‘Annaatthe’ in Hyderabad for the past 10 days.

A couple of people on film sets had tested positive for Covid-19. Rajinikanth was tested on December 22 for Covid but was negative. Since then, he has been isolated and closely monitored, the hospital said.

“Although he did not have any Covid-19 symptoms, his blood pressure was showing severe fluctuations and he needed further evaluation, so he was admitted to the hospital,” the hospital said in a statement earlier.

“He will be closely investigated and monitored in the hospital until his blood pressure stabilizes before discharge. Apart from fluctuating blood pressure and exhaustion, he does not have any other symptoms and is hemodynamically stable,” the statement added.

The Governor of Telangana, Tamilisai Soundararajan, called and spoke with the doctors and wished him a speedy recovery.
