HYDERABAD: Actor Rajinikanth was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad on Friday morning with severe fluctuations in blood pressure.
The actor had been filming for his film ‘Annaatthe’ in Hyderabad when four members of the team tested positive for Covid-19 and filming had to be postponed indefinitely from December 23. Rajinikanth was tested for Covid-19 on December 22 and tested negative. He has since been isolated and closely monitored, said a press release issued by Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad.
“Although Rajinikanth himself did not show any symptoms of Covid-19, his blood pressure showed severe fluctuations and he needed further evaluation, so he was admitted to hospital,” the statement said. He will be closely investigated and monitored in the hospital until his blood pressure stabilizes before he is discharged, he said.
Aside from fluctuating blood pressure and exhaustion, he has no other symptoms and is hemodynamically stable, the statement added. On December 23, Sun Pictures, which is producing Rajinikanth’s latest film, ‘Annaatthe,’ postponed filming for the film after four team members tested positive for Covid and the filming unit was asked to pack.
Rajinikanth had planned to complete filming on his latest film before launching into work at his new political party. The actor had unveiled his plans to announce the launch of his party on December 31 and begin political work in earnest after filming for the film was completed on January 15.
