The Rajasthan government is identifying people over the age of 60 in the Covid-19 containment zones and will monitor their medical history for specific care and attention and to save their lives, authorities said.

In Rajasthan, most deaths from coronavirus disease in the containment areas have been in this age group.

Rohit Kumar Singh, additional chief secretary of the medical and health department, said: “Through the Ayushman Bharat-MGRSBY database, we have identified people in the age group over 60 who live in the containment zone in the Ramganj area of ​​Jaipur and all other major outbreak areas in the state. “

He said the department was tracking the history of his treatment under the health insurance scheme based on available data from the past four years.

“The goal is to quickly identify them to detect respiratory and other vulnerabilities, such as kidney, hypertension, diabetes, or similar conditions. We are targeting them for specific attention and attention, ”Singh said.

The main objective, he added, is to save the lives of the vulnerable, as much as possible.

Meanwhile, two people, who were pronounced dead on arrival at the SMS Hospital on April 24 and 25, tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday.

Singh said that in Ramganj, the large outbreak zone in Jaipur, there are about 10,140 people in the target age group; 6,366 of them in group 60-69, 2,866 in group 70-79, 794 in group 80-89 and 114 in group 90-100.

In Jaipur, which had 808 Covid-19 cases on Sunday night, more than 80 percent of cases have been reported from the Ramganj neighborhood. A 45-year-old man, who returned from Oman on March 13 and tested positive on March 26, has been the superdiffuser, causing infection to at least 232 people.

Meanwhile, the Covid-19 number in Rajasthan on Sunday night reached 2,185. There have been 41 deaths in the state due to the disease.
