The independents won 439 seats, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) won five seats, the CPI-M won 26 seats in the elections while the RLP won 60 seats, according to the website of the state electoral commission.
Elections were held in 4,371 seats in 222 panchayat samitis spread over 21 districts.
The BJP’s winning streak continued with the samiti panchayat elections. They have won the Zila parishad elections in which the party won 353 seats while Congress was limited to 252.
The CPI-M won two seats, the independents 18, and the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party won 10 seats.
“This victory is the hallmark of the people in the rural policies of BJP. It reflects the ideology developed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for farmers and this victory also reflects the hard efforts made by the workers of BJP,” said the BJP state president Satish poonia said.
