JAIPUR Amid the spiral of COVID-19 cases, the Rajasthan cabinet decided on Saturday to impose a night curfew on 8 districts and increased the fine for not wearing a mask ₹200 to ₹500, an official statement said.
Those who venture to attend weddings, buy essential items, commuters by train, bus and plane, and people associated with essential services will be exempt, he said.
The cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who met on Saturday night, decided that an 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew will be imposed in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Bikaner, Udaipur, Ajmer, Alwar and Bhilwara , said.
Markets, restaurants, shopping centers and other commercial establishments in the urban areas of these districts will be closed at 7 pm and the night curfew will begin at 8 pm, he added.
A maximum of 75 percent of the employees will be called to work in government and private offices in those districts where the number of employees is 100 or more. Staff will work on a rotating basis, according to the statement.
At weddings, religious, social, cultural and political events, only 100 people will be allowed.
The cabinet also decided that daycare treatment facilities in private hospitals will be available at a rate set by the state government. Under this facility, critical COVID-19 patients will be sent home in 2-3 hours after receiving medication and treatment. It will also facilitate the availability of beds in hospitals, he said.
It was reported at the meeting that hospitals attached to private medical colleges can now be acquired to be converted into dedicated COVID facilities if necessary, he said.
In addition, the medical and health department will conduct door-to-door surveys in areas that report large numbers of cases, according to the statement.
