The Ministry of Railways has announced that all train tickets reserved before March 25 to travel before June 30 will be canceled and a full refund will be provided to customers.

The announcement applies to the reservation of passenger train travel tickets reserved prior to the closure of the coronavirus for travel until June 30, 2020.

The operation of the Shramik special trains, for the purpose of repatriating stranded migrant workers amid the coronavirus blockade, will not be affected. 15 special interstate passenger trains that resumed operations on May 12 will also run seamlessly without any changes. The ministry’s latest announcement does not apply to the train services mentioned above.

All passenger train operations were suspended in March after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the national blockade of the coronavirus to break the chain of infection in the country. Freight trains and rail operations for the essentials were carried out by railways.
