Wednesday night turned out to be Kolkata Knight Riders night as the team led by Dinesh Karthik beat the Chennai Super Kings of MS Dhoni by 10 runs. Drawing on key contributions from Rahul Tripathi and Sunil Narine, KKR won the game and made team owner Shah Rukh Khan shout with joy: ‘Rahul naam to suna hi hoga.’
Tripathi, who played a crucial 81-of-51-ball inning in the early innings, was named the Man of the Match. The right-hander had opened the innings alongside Sunil Narine and KKR set a 168-run goal for CSK.
When Tripathi collected his award, Shah Rukh Khan was heard shouting his iconic dialgoue from the movie ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’, “Rahul, naam toh suna hi hoga!” The Bollywood megastar’s gesture made the KKR opener laugh as he chatted with Harsha Bhogle during the post-match introduction ceremony.

After choosing to hit first, KKR managed to add a respectable 167 on the board after 20 overs. Rahul Tripathi, who was promoted to open innings along with Shubman Gill, played a brilliant 81 shot on 51 deliveries. CSK got off to a great start when Shane Watson posted his second 50 in a row. However, things turned around after the 10-over mark, and CSK was only able to add 14 runs in 5 overs since then. This pressure influenced the chasing team, and KKR watched the match.
